Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply for utility assistance?
Utility assistance is available to qualified residents in the following zip codes:
40059, 40222, 40223, 40241, 40242, 40243, 40245.

What documents do I need to apply for assistance?
A copy of your identification (ID)
A copy of the overdue bill (To qualify for assistance, you must have an LG&E brown bill or a Louisville Water past due amount on your bill.)

Is assistance guaranteed if I apply?
Unfortunately, submitting a request does NOT guarantee that EACM can provide assistance. We receive a high number of requests each month, and our funding is limited.

How much assistance can I receive?
Depending on funding, LG& E and Louisville Water assistance can be approved up to twice a year, once every 6 months. Due to limited resources, the maximum assistance is $400 per utility. If your past due amount is more than that, please contact LIHEAP for assistance.
